Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using {P}eelSec ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and {P}eelSec. Please read them carefully before using our Service.

2. Description of Service

{P}eelSec is a threat intelligence aggregation platform that enables users to:

  • Aggregate threat data from multiple intelligence sources (CVE databases, breach APIs, security RSS feeds, OSINT)
  • Personalize threat alerts based on their technology stack (languages, frameworks, cloud providers)
  • Monitor feeds for new threats with scheduled checks and automatic notifications
  • Track GitHub repositories and organizations for security-relevant activity
  • Analyze threats using AI-powered investigation tools
  • Export threat data in various formats (JSON, CSV, Excel)
  • Receive weekly AI-generated intelligence briefings

3. Account Registration

3.1 Eligibility

To use {P}eelSec, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have the legal authority to enter into this agreement
  • Use the Service for legitimate security research, professional, or business purposes
  • Be authorized to provide any API credentials you configure for third-party connectors

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Ensuring that any third-party API credentials you provide have appropriate permissions and limitations

4. Subscription Tiers

{P}eelSec offers multiple subscription tiers with varying features and limits:

  • Free: Limited features for evaluation and personal use
  • Pro: Full features for individual security professionals ($25/month)
  • Team: Collaboration features for security teams ($20/seat/month)
  • Business: Enterprise features including SSO, API access, and dedicated support

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Access systems or data without proper authorization
  • Redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit threat intelligence data obtained through the Service without authorization
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions
  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service beyond intended functionality
  • Store or transmit malicious code through the Service
  • Use threat intelligence for offensive cyberattacks or illegal activities
  • Harvest or collect information about other users

Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate termination of your account.

6. Threat Intelligence Data

6.1 Data Sources

{P}eelSec aggregates threat intelligence from various public and third-party sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any threat data. You should independently verify critical security information before taking action.

6.2 Use of Threat Data

Threat intelligence obtained through the Service should be used for:

  • Defensive security purposes
  • Vulnerability management and remediation
  • Security awareness and research
  • Incident response and investigation
  • Compliance and risk assessment

6.3 Data Freshness

Threat data is aggregated on scheduled intervals. Real-time or immediate availability of new threats is not guaranteed. For critical security decisions, always verify with authoritative sources.

7. Third-Party Connectors

7.1 Your Responsibility

When you connect third-party services (Have I Been Pwned, Shodan, VirusTotal, GitHub, etc.):

  • You are solely responsible for the API credentials you provide
  • You must have authorization to use those credentials with our Service
  • You must comply with the terms of service of each third-party platform
  • You are responsible for any charges incurred on third-party platforms
  • You must ensure your API credentials have appropriate scope and limitations

7.2 No Affiliation

{P}eelSec is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party intelligence provider. All product names, logos, and brands are property of their respective owners.

7.3 Trademark Attribution

The following trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used here solely to indicate compatibility with their products and services:

  • Have I Been Pwned is a trademark of Troy Hunt
  • GitHub and the GitHub logo are trademarks of GitHub, Inc.
  • VirusTotal is a trademark of Google LLC
  • Shodan is a trademark of Shodan, LLC
  • National Vulnerability Database (NVD) is maintained by NIST

Use of these trademarks does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by the trademark owners.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by{P}eelSec and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you provide to or generate through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely for providing the Service to you.

8.3 License to Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your internal security and business purposes.

9. Disclaimers

Please Read This Section Carefully

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. {P}EELSEC SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the foregoing, {P}eelSec does not warrant that:

  • The Service will meet your specific security requirements
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • Threat intelligence data will be accurate, complete, or up-to-date
  • The Service will identify all security threats or vulnerabilities
  • Any errors in the Service will be corrected
  • Acting on threat intelligence will prevent security incidents

You understand and agree that you use the Service at your own risk. Security decisions should not be based solely on data from this Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

Important Liability Limitations

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL {P}EELSEC, ITS OWNER, AFFILIATES, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business
  • Security incidents or data breaches
  • Loss of data or data breach costs
  • Loss of use or goodwill
  • Business interruption
  • Cost of substitute services
  • Any other intangible losses

REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION, THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE), OR WHETHER {P}EELSEC HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Maximum Aggregate Liability

THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF {P}EELSEC FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

  • (A) The total amounts paid by you to {P}eelSec in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, OR
  • (B) One Hundred United States Dollars (US $100)

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, the limitations above shall apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless {P}eelSec and its owner from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, privacy, or contractual right
  • Your use or misuse of third-party API credentials
  • Your violation of any third-party platform's terms of service
  • Any claim that your use of the Service caused damage to a third party
  • Any misuse of threat intelligence data obtained through the Service

12. Dispute Resolution

Binding Arbitration Agreement

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT.

12.1 Agreement to Arbitrate

Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, including the breach, termination, or validity thereof, shall be finally settled by binding arbitration administered by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) under its Rules of Arbitration.

12.2 Arbitration Terms

  • Location: Tel Aviv, Israel
  • Language: English
  • Number of arbitrators: One (1)
  • Rules: ICC Rules of Arbitration
  • Award: The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding

12.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE TO WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION, OR ANY OTHER REPRESENTATIVE ACTION AGAINST {P}EELSEC. You may only bring claims against {P}eelSec in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.

12.4 Small Claims Exception

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction.

12.5 Informal Resolution

Before initiating arbitration, you agree to first contact us at legal@peelsec.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

For any matters not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Tel Aviv, Israel.

14. Termination

14.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your account settings.

14.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Violation of the Acceptable Use Policy
  • At our sole discretion
  • Discontinuation of the Service

14.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to access the Service will cease immediately
  • Your stored data will be deleted after a 30-day grace period
  • Sections 9-13 (Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution, Governing Law) shall survive termination

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. We may also send you an email notification.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.

16. General Provisions

16.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and {P}eelSec regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

16.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16.3 Waiver

No waiver of any term or condition shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term.

16.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
